SipDouro: the facts

SipDouro runs private wine days and wine, Port and olive oil tastings in the Douro Valley, Portugal. It is run by two locals from Alijó and licensed as a tour operator (RNAAT 280/2025, SIP & SAVOR, LDA, NIF 518537994). Tours are in English and Portuguese. This page lists everything in one place.

Private full days

• Classic: wine at Quinta da Foz Tua, olive oil at Quinta da Peruana, lunch in Alijó, Port at Quinta da Levandeira and a shared boat from Pinhão. From €250 per person. Group price: €500 for 2, €695 for 3, €890 for 4, €1,235 for 5, €1,430 for 6, €1,625 for 7, €1,820 for 8.
• Signature: the same route with 20 and 30-year-old Ports, four Foz Tua wines, lunch at O Barão and a private boat with tapas. From €345 per person. Group price: €690 for 2, €910 for 3, €1,130 for 4, €1,500 for 5, €1,720 for 6, €1,940 for 7, €2,160 for 8.
• About 9:00 to 18:00. Times are a guide: only the boat (17:00) and the 18:10 train from Pinhão are fixed.
• Your own car and host all day, 2 to 8 guests. Booking is by request (WhatsApp or the form); 5 to 8 guests travel by van, subject to availability. The estates welcome other visitors too.
• Children: €40 each (boat and lunch). They take a seat in the car; we have child seats.
• Boat cancelled by bad weather: Classic refunds €15 per person; Signature refunds the cost of the boat.
• Full payment when booking. Free cancellation up to 5 days before. Book at least 48 hours ahead. Private days booked more than 60 days ahead get 5% off.

Pickup area

• Pickup is included at your accommodation within 25 km (straight line) of a point between Pinhão and Alijó: Pinhão, Alijó, Tua, Favaios, Sabrosa, Casal de Loivos, São Mamede de Ribatua, São João da Pesqueira, Tabuaço, Carrazeda de Ansiães, Murça, Vila Real and Peso da Régua.
• Coming by train from Porto: the 7:30 train from Campanhã reaches Tua station at 10:06, where we meet you.
• At the end of the day we drop you at your accommodation, or at Pinhão station for the 18:10 train.
• No pickups in Porto. Outside the area: message us.

Tastings

• Port at Quinta da Levandeira (1h30, Monday to Thursday, 11:00 or 16:00): 3 Style Port, €35 per person (white, 10-year tawny, LBV 2014); Premium, €59 (20-year white, 30-year tawny, LBV 2014); Old & White, €79 (Colheita White 2010, 30-year white, 30 and 50-year tawny).
• Wine at Quinta da Foz Tua (1h, Friday to Sunday, 11:00 or 16:00, next to Tua station): Premium €21, Blend €23, Full €78 per person for 2 to 4 guests; less per person for 5 to 8. Wine can be bought at the end.
• Olive oil at Quinta da Peruana (45 min, 14:00, São Mamede de Ribatua): €15 per person. Two styles of olive oil with bread and almonds. The mill runs in November and December.
• All tastings: 2 to 8 guests, may be shared with other guests, no transport (meet at the quinta). Book from 14 days to 24 hours ahead. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. We wait 15 minutes; no-shows are not refunded.

Good to know

• Comfortable shoes; a light jacket from November to March; hat and sunscreen in summer.
• Wheelchairs: please message us before booking, as one may not fit in the car.
• We confirm the pickup time on WhatsApp the day before.
• Invoices with tax number (NIF/VAT) on request.
