Private wine tours from Régua

Staying in Régua? The quintas we work with are upriver, between Pinhão and Tua. We take you there on a private day, with your own car and host.

The Douro River in the late afternoon light

Two ways to start

Pickup at your hotel

We collect you in Régua and bring you back at the end of the day. Included in the price.

Train to Tua

Take the 9:26 train from Régua and 40 minutes later you’re at Tua, where we’ll be waiting. On the way back, we drop you at Pinhão for the 18:10 train, which gets you to Régua at 18:36. The ride along the river is part of the trip.

Your day

  • Wine tasting at Quinta da Foz Tua and Port tasting at Quinta da Levandeira do Roncão.
  • Olive oil at a traditional mill.
  • Lunch in Alijó.
  • A boat on the river in the late afternoon.
  • Back around 18:00.

Your own car and host, 2 to 8 people (on the Classic, the boat is shared). We drive, you taste.

Why leave Régua?

Régua is the gateway to the Douro, but from Pinhão onwards the valley narrows, the terraces climb higher and the quintas sit closer to the river. That’s where we spend the day.

Good to know if you are staying in Régua

  • Régua to Pinhão is about 25 km along the river. The road is beautiful but slow, which is why we pick you up or meet you off the train.
  • Pickup in Régua is included, at your hotel or guesthouse, at no extra cost.
  • Need a ride on another day? Taxis in the Douro are few and Uber rarely comes this far. Our Douro transfers show the price straight away.
  • Prefer a single tasting? The wine tasting at Quinta da Foz Tua is next to Tua station, so you can go by train from Régua and come back the same way.
