SipDouro is a small company from Alijó, in the heart of the Douro wine region, founded by Gonçalo Portela and David Teixeira.
Gonçalo has lived around Alijó for 25 years. David came up from Lisbon five years ago, fell for the valley and stayed. We host the tastings ourselves, at quintas, mills and tables most visitors only see from the road.
How we work
- Small groups. Our full days give you your own car and host, 2 to 8 people, so we can take our time.
- Places we know. We work with quintas we chose ourselves: Quinta da Levandeira do Roncão, Quinta da Foz Tua and Quinta da Peruana, and we eat where we eat.
- We drive, you taste. Nobody in your group has to choose between tasting and driving.
- Licensed. Registered tour operator, RNAAT 280/2025.
Why travel with us
- Local, not imported. We live in Alijó, between Pinhão and the Tua valley. Gonçalo worked front of house at O Barão, the Alijó restaurant where some of our lunches are served, so we know the tables as well as the cellars.
- Honest days. No tourist staging and no rushing from one shop to the next. The times on our pages are a guide; if you want to stay longer at a viewpoint, we stay.
- Tours in English and Portuguese. You talk to the people who will host you, before and during the day.
- A real company. SIP & SAVOR, LDA, founded in 2025, registered tour operator RNAAT 280/2025, with invoices and insurance like any licensed business.

Who will host our day?
One of the two of us, Gonçalo or David, depending on the date. Either way, you have your own car and host for the whole day.
Do you only work with three quintas?
For the set days, yes: Quinta da Levandeira do Roncão, Quinta da Foz Tua and Quinta da Peruana. For a custom day we can arrange others. Tell us what you would like.
